Custom Silicone Rubber Molded Parts Details
FlexiTurn provides custom silicone rubber molding services for components such as the translucent protective caps, tabbed sealing gaskets, and barbed fluid connectors shown above. Every part is produced to customer-supplied 2D or 3D CAD data. FlexiTurn is a custom manufacturing service provider. The service delivered encompasses the full production cycle: mold design coordination, tool fabrication, material selection, molding, deflashing, post-curing, and dimensional verification.
Molding Processes & Capabilities
Complex silicone geometries with undercuts, thin walls, and sealing lips require mold-based forming, not CNC cutting. FlexiTurn coordinates three primary silicone molding routes:
Compression Molding: A pre-measured silicone charge is placed into a heated mold cavity and compressed into shape. Suitable for medium-to-high hardness HCR silicone and larger parts.
Transfer Molding: Silicone is placed in a transfer pot and forced into the closed mold cavity under heat and pressure. Ideal for parts with metal inserts, complex geometries, and tighter tolerance control than standard compression molding.
Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) Injection Molding: Two-component platinum-catalyzed LSR is mixed and injected into a heated mold. Ideal for high-volume precision parts, thin walls, and complex geometries.
FlexiTurn's tooling network applies CNC machining to cut mold cavities, cores, and steel inserts to the required geometry, ensuring dimensional fidelity before molding begins.
Available Materials & Compliance
FlexiTurn molds silicone compounds matched to your application:
Platinum-cured LSR & HCR: High purity, no peroxide by-products. Available with compliance documentation for FDA 21 CFR 177.2600, USP Class VI, and BfR. Hardness range Shore A 20–80. Temperature range -60°C to +200°C (short-term to +230°C).
Color Options: Translucent (natural), black, or custom-pigmented upon request.
Tolerances, Quality & Finishing
Molded silicone tolerances follow ISO 3302-1 or DIN 7715. Typical achievable tolerances depend on dimension and hardness; for nominal sizes 0–6 mm, M2 class is ±0.10 mm, M3 is ±0.20 mm.
To ensure material stability and eliminate residual volatiles, FlexiTurn performs post-curing (post-baking) where required. We utilize cryogenic deflashing to precisely remove parting-line flash without damaging delicate sealing edges. In-process visual and dimensional inspections are conducted. The quality management system is ISO 9001:2015 certified.
Why Choose FlexiTurn
