OEM Custom CNC Turned & Milled Brass Parts Details

FlexiTurn provides precision CNC turning for custom copper alloy components, exemplified by the flanged plain bearing bushings above. We manufacture C3600 free-cutting brass for structural/fluid control parts and C93200 bearing-grade tin bronze for wear and motion applications, tailored to exact application requirements.

Flanged copper alloy parts demand tight control of bore-to-flange concentricity, bore surface integrity and mounting hole indexing for performance and interchangeability. General shops with generic tooling and multi-step re-chucking routinely yield excessive runout, surface tearing and misaligned holes; FlexiTurn’s grade-specific turning processes mitigate these failure modes, delivering repeatable dimensional accuracy from prototype through high-volume production.

Machining Process & Capabilities

FlexiTurn executes the full production sequence in-house, with process parameters and tooling calibrated per copper alloy grade to ensure repeatable accuracy across every batch.

Precision CNC Turning: Internal and external diameters, flange faces and bore chamfers are machined with unified primary datums, minimizing re-chucking to ensure true concentricity between bore, flange face and outer diameter. Rough and finish turning operations use grade-specific carbide tooling and controlled coolant delivery to prevent chip adhesion and surface tearing, with consistent bore geometry verified per batch.

Indexed Drilling: Flange mounting holes are drilled via precision indexed fixturing synchronized with the turning datum, ensuring accurate angular spacing and true position relative to the central bore axis.

Internal Grinding (Precision Grade): For high-load and precision motion applications, internal grinding is applied to achieve IT6–IT7 bore diameter tolerances and controlled surface roughness, reducing friction coefficient and extending wear service life.

Secondary Operations: Deburring, edge breaking and hole tapping are performed to specification. We also offer integrated sub-assembly services to deliver fully finished components ready for line installation.

Materials & Dimensional Specifications

FlexiTurn sources certified premium copper alloys, with full mill test certificates and complete batch traceability for every order.

Why Choose FlexiTurn

Unified Datum Turning for True Concentricity

Most general machine shops process flanged parts with separate chucking operations for bore and flange faces, introducing cumulative runout error that degrades bearing performance and shortens service life. FlexiTurn’s optimized turning workflows use unified datum control to minimize setup transitions, delivering superior concentricity and bore accuracy that commodity turning suppliers cannot reliably achieve.

Full In-House Process Control

All operations — from turning and drilling to grinding and final inspection — are performed on FlexiTurn’s premises with zero subcontracting. This reduces lead time variability, eliminates third-party margins and maintains direct oversight of every quality-critical step. Full material batch traceability is maintained from bar stock certificate to finished part, and all production adheres to our ISO 9001:2015-aligned quality management system.

Copper Alloy-Specific DFM Engineering Support

Every CAD submission receives a complimentary Design for Manufacturability assessment within 24 hours, focused on copper alloy machining characteristics and application performance optimization. Our engineering team evaluates wall thickness transitions, bore tolerances, mounting hole spacing and material grade selection to mitigate machining distortion, reduce cycle time and maximize in-service wear life.
