Customized High Precision Black Rubber Bushing Details

FlexiTurn manufactures custom compression-molded rubber bushings and elastomer components, extending our precision machining heritage into full-spectrum elastomer manufacturing. With in-house mold design, CNC-machined tooling, and controlled vulcanization, we deliver bonded rubber-metal assemblies and pure elastomer parts from prototype to high-volume production — serving automotive, automation, aerospace, and oil & gas industries.

Capabilities Overview

Rather than off-the-shelf catalog parts, FlexiTurn provides contract manufacturing of custom elastomer components engineered to your drawings and performance specifications. Our vertically integrated capability — from CNC-machined mold cores and metal bonding substrates to precision molding and post-processing — enables hybrid rubber-metal solutions that few standalone rubber shops can deliver.

Core Manufacturing Processes:

Compression Molding: Standard for low-to-medium volume and large cross-sections; optimal for prototype and short-run tooling.

Transfer Molding: Medium-to-high volume; tighter cavity fill control for complex geometries and bonded inserts.

Injection Molding: High-volume automation; consistent cycle times and minimal flash for precision small parts.

Post-Processing: Cryogenic deflashing, die-cut trimming, and precision CNC turning for high-durometer (≥Shore A 80) or metal-bonded components requiring tight dimensional control.

Note on CNC Machining: Our CNC turning capability is applied to high-durometer polyurethane, rigid polymer, and rubber-metal bonded components where machined finishes are required. Standard soft-elastomer parts are finished via cryogenic deflashing or die cutting — not CNC.

Material Selection Guide

Every compound is matched to your application environment. Our engineering team provides full material recommendation, including hardness (durometer), temperature range, and fluid compatibility.

Material Temp Range Key Resistance Typical Applications
NR (Natural Rubber) -50°C ~ +80°C High resilience, tear, dynamic fatigue Suspension bushings, bump stops
EPDM -40°C ~ +120°C Ozone, UV, weather, steam Chassis bushings, dust boots
NBR (Nitrile) -30°C ~ +100°C Oil, fuel, hydrocarbons Engine mounts, oil seals
HNBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile) -30°C ~ +150°C High-temp oil, abrasion Timing tensioners, under-hood
CR (Chloroprene / Neoprene) -30°C ~ +100°C Moderate oil, ozone, flame Industrial bushings, grommets
ACM/AEM (Acrylic) -20°C ~ +175°C High-temp oil, transmission fluids Transmission seals, axle seals
PU/CPU (Polyurethane) -40°C ~ +80°C Extreme abrasion, high load Heavy-load bushings, guide rollers
VMQ (Silicone) -60°C ~ +230°C Extreme temp, low odor Aerospace grommets, medical
FKM (Viton) -20°C ~ +200°C Chemicals, fuels, high temp Oil & gas valve seals, aerospace

Hardness: Shore A 30° – 90°; Shore D grades available for PU.

FlexiTurn Advantage

We manufacture the metal inner/outer sleeves in-house on CNC lathes (±0.005 mm), then chemically treat and bond elastomer to the metal via controlled vulcanization. Single integrated component with precision concentricity, full traceability, and no third-party metal supplier dependency. Ideal for automotive control-arm bushings, suspension strut mounts, and industrial vibration isolators.
