High Precision Custom Rubber Parts Details

FlexiTurn provides custom manufacturing services for precision rubber and elastomer components, exemplified by the black convoluted dust boot shown above. This part features a multi-ridge tapered profile, axial through bore, and integrated sealing lips. FlexiTurn does not supply standard catalog parts — every rubber component is engineered and produced to your 2D or 3D CAD data.

Manufacturing Process & Capabilities

Because complex internal convolutions and undercuts cannot be machined by standard CNC cutting tools without distortion, FlexiTurn utilizes a tailored manufacturing approach for these geometries. Our core deliverable is the engineering and production service that transforms your design into a functional part:

  • Molding (Primary Process): For bellows, boots, and complex 3D elastomer shapes, FlexiTurn coordinates and manages the tooling design and manufacturing process, utilizing compression molding or injection molding to achieve the necessary flexibility and structural integrity.
  • CNC Machining (Secondary/Flat Parts): For simple geometries (such as flat rubber gaskets, sheets, or straight sleeves) and post-molding trimming, FlexiTurn applies cryogenic or specialized CNC machining to hold precise dimensions and clean edges.
  • Post-Molding Operations: Automated cryogenic deflashing, edge trimming, and secondary machining to ensure clean parting lines and dimensional conformity.
  • FlexiTurn manages the entire workflow—from DFM analysis and mold fabrication to final production and inspection—under one project manager.

Available Materials

Material selection is critical for dynamic rubber components. FlexiTurn supports engineering elastomers matched to your operating environment:

  • EPDM: Excellent weathering, ozone, and water resistance. Suitable for outdoor and washdown automation.
  • NBR (Nitrile): Superior oil and fuel resistance. Ideal for automotive and hydraulic seals.
  • Silicone (VMQ): High-temperature resistance (-60°C to +200°C) and flexibility. Suitable for non-implantable medical and high-heat equipment.
  • FKM: Outstanding chemical and heat resistance for aggressive fluid environments.

Tolerances and Quality Assurance

For molded rubber components, FlexiTurn adheres to standard elastomer tolerance classes (such as ISO 3302-1 or DIN 7715). For machined elastomers, we can achieve tolerances down to ±0.1 mm depending on the durometer (Shore A) and geometry.

FlexiTurn performs in-process dimensional verification and final visual inspection to ensure the part meets your drawing requirements. Material test certificates (MTCs) and dimensional inspection reports are available upon request. FlexiTurn’s quality management system is ISO 9001:2015 certified.

Why Choose FlexiTurn

FlexiTurn is a China-based manufacturing service provider focused on custom engineered components, not off-the-shelf distribution.

DFM & Engineering Support: We review your CAD data to determine the most cost-effective process (molding vs. machining) and optimize geometry for manufacturability.

Tooling & Molding Management: We coordinate mold design and production to ensure consistent quality and cycle times.

Material Expertise: We help specify the correct elastomer and durometer for your chemical, temperature, and dynamic requirements.

Scalable Production: From prototype validation to high-volume serial production, without changing suppliers.

Documented Traceability: Certified raw materials with batch traceability and full inspection reports.

FlexiTurn serves industries including automation machinery, robotics, non-implantable medical devices, non-safety-critical automotive, and industrial equipment.
