Custom CNC Machined Copper Fittings Details
Product Overview
The copper hose barb fitting shown is a representative example of FlexiTurn’s custom CNC machining capabilities for fluid system components. This straight adapter integrates a male threaded end, a multi-barb hose connection end, a central wrenching hex, and a precision internal flow bore. Every dimension, thread specification, and barb geometry is produced according to customer 2D or 3D CAD files. FlexiTurn machines custom fittings to your specific application requirements.
FlexiTurn’s core offering is the CNC machining process itself: converting your design data into a fully functional fluid fitting with controlled thread accuracy, consistent barb form, and optimized internal bore finish. FlexiTurn supports orders ranging from one-off prototypes and low-volume batches through to high-volume serial production.
Machining Capabilities Demonstrated
Manufacturing this hose barb fitting requires multiple precision machining operations, reflecting FlexiTurn’s process control and equipment capability:
- CNC turning for external thread cutting, multi-ridge barb profile forming, cylindrical body finishing, and internal through bore machining
- CNC milling for the wrenching hex flats with accurate flatness and parallelism
- CNC drilling for the axial through bore with consistent surface finish
- Precision tapping for internal thread features where specified
- Deburring and edge finishing to remove sharp edges and burrs
Available Materials
FlexiTurn regularly machines copper and brass alloys for fluid fitting applications, including C11000 ETP copper, C36000 free-cutting brass, and phosphor bronze. For applications requiring higher mechanical strength or enhanced corrosion resistance, FlexiTurn also machines equivalent fittings in 304/316L stainless steel and 6061-T6 aluminum. All raw materials are sourced from certified suppliers with documented material traceability.
Tolerances and Quality Assurance
FlexiTurn maintains tight dimensional control on all critical fitting features. For hose barb fittings, typical tolerances are ±0.05 mm on barb diameters, thread positions, and bore concentricity; tighter tolerances can be achieved to meet specific requirements. FlexiTurn performs in-process dimensional verification and final inspection on every order. Material test certificates and dimensional inspection reports are available upon request. FlexiTurn’s manufacturing quality system is ISO 9001:2015 certified.
Surface Finishing Options
To meet functional and aesthetic requirements, FlexiTurn offers a range of secondary surface treatments: metal polishing, electroplating (nickel, tin, silver), sandblasting, brushed finish, and laser marking. Anodizing and powder coating are not applicable to copper and brass alloys and are not offered for these materials. Where plating is specified, FlexiTurn controls pre-plating dimensions to maintain final assembly fit after coating.
