When purchasing ASTM A36 structural steel, overseas buyers frequently face excessive mill minimum order quantities (MOQs), high international shipping fees due to purchasing full heavy plates (paying freight on scrap), severe tool chipping caused by tough mill scale, and a lack of local large-travel cutting or stress-relieving equipment. We provide flexible, small-batch, cut-to-size steel blanks with front-end pre-machining—including precision sawing, NC plate cutting, 6-side milling/grinding, trepanning, and stress-relief annealing. Clients receive ready-to-machine blanks that go directly into final CNC machining or welding assembly.
Backed by fully certified import/export qualifications, all our A36 steel is sourced directly from tier-1 primary steel mills certified to ISO 9001 standards, strictly adhering to ASTM A36 / A36M specifications (strictly controlling carbon, manganese, and impurity contents) - never mixing inferior or scrap steel. Every blank is stamped or marked with its original furnace heat/lot number and accompanied by an official EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Report (MTR) detailing spectral chemical composition, tensile strength, yield strength (≥250 MPa / 36 ksi), and elongation data for 100% material traceability.
ASTM A36 is one of the most widely used hot-rolled low-carbon structural steels, featuring excellent weldability (without complex preheating), outstanding ductility and toughness, good cold bending properties, and high cost-effectiveness. Although its low carbon content prevents significant through-hardening via heat treatment, its stable yield strength makes it an ideal choice for building structural frames, heavy machinery bases, mold bases/bolsters, industrial equipment chassis, bridge components, and various welded structural assemblies.
First, eliminating high MOQ and full-plate constraints - clients avoid purchasing full 6-meter or 12-meter heavy plates for small-batch projects. Second, drastically reduced international freight costs - stripping mill scale and eliminating 30%+ of excess dead weight prior to shipping prevents paying air or ocean freight on metal chips. Third, protection for high-end CNC equipment - moving time-consuming scale peeling, heavy roughing, and flame/plasma cutting to front-end processing reduces shock wear and insert chipping on local CNC machine tools. Fourth, ensuring machining stability - controlled stress-relief annealing eliminates residual stresses from thermal cutting (HAZ), preventing warping or distortion during subsequent single-sided machining.
Hot-rolled A36 steel inherently carries heavy mill scale and is susceptible to rust if left unprotected. Upon request, we offer shot blasting/sandblasting, anti-rust oil coating, painting, or moisture-proof packaging. Following final precision machining or welding, clients can apply black oxide, hot-dip galvanizing, powder coating, or electroplating based on their end-use requirements.
