Backed by fully certified import/export qualifications, all our 1045 carbon steel is sourced directly from tier-1 primary steel mills certified to ISO 9001 standards, strictly adhering to AISI/SAE 1045 (equivalent to C45 / 1.0503) chemical composition specifications - never mixing inferior or scrap steel. AISI 1045 is a classic medium carbon steel featuring significantly higher strength, hardness, and wear resistance compared to low-carbon 1018, alongside excellent heat treatment responsiveness. While 1018 is ideal for carburizing (hard case, tough core), 1045 excels through Quenching & Tempering (Q&T) to achieve balanced core mechanical properties, or Induction Hardening to yield surface hardness of 55–60 HRC with a resilient core. It is widely specified for gears, crankshafts, drive shafts, splined shafts, hydraulic piston rods, connecting rods, and high-load structural machinery parts.
