Clients receive ready-to-machine blanks that go directly into final CNC finishing or carburizing heat treatment.
Backed by fully certified import/export qualifications, all our 1018 carbon steel is sourced directly from tier-1 primary steel mills certified to ISO 9001 standards, strictly adhering to AISI/SAE 1018 chemical composition specifications - never mixing inferior or scrap steel. Every blank is stamped or marked with its original furnace heat/lot number and accompanied by an official EN 10204 3.1 Mill Test Report (MTR) detailing spectral chemical analysis (C, Mn, P, S, etc.), tensile/yield strengths, elongation, and hardness data for 100% material traceability.
AISI 1018 is a classic low-carbon steel (carbon content ~0.15%–0.20%) featuring excellent weldability (TIG/MIG/SMAW), outstanding cold formability, superior machining response, and excellent carburizing capabilities. Post-carburizing or carbonitriding, it achieves a composite structure of a hard, wear-resistant surface (58–62 HRC) paired with a tough, ductile core. It is widely utilized for pins, bushings, gear shafts, connecting rods, fasteners, and general structural machinery parts.

Second, drastically reduced international freight costs—stripping mill scale and eliminating 30%+ of excess dead weight prior to shipping prevents paying air or ocean freight on metal chips. Third, protection for high-end CNC equipment - moving labor-intensive scale peeling and heavy roughing to front-end processing reduces shock wear on high-precision CNC machine tools and cutting inserts. In its untreated state, 1018 steel exhibits relatively low hardness (approx. HB 126–150) and is susceptible to rust if unprotected. Prior to dispatch, all 1018 steel blanks receive heavy-duty anti-rust oil coatings or moisture-proof vacuum packaging. Following final precision machining, clients can apply black oxide, zinc plating, electroless nickel plating, or carburizing & quenching based on their end-use requirements.
