Custom Premium Ceramics Parts Details

FlexiTurn manufactures every custom ceramic part strictly to your exact CAD specifications, delivering dimensionally accurate, wear-optimized ceramic components engineered for motion guidance, electrical insulation and corrosion resistance across high-demand industrial applications.

Manufacturing Process & Precision Control

Structural ceramics cannot be machined via conventional CNC milling or turning due to extreme hardness and brittleness. FlexiTurn controls the full production chain to eliminate common ceramic machining defects such as edge chipping, subsurface micro-cracks and profile deviation.

Blank Forming & Sintering: Near-net-shape blanks are produced through isostatic compaction and high-temperature atmosphere sintering, ensuring uniform material density and minimal grinding stock to reduce both cost and lead time.

CNC Diamond Grinding: All final dimensions and groove profiles are finished on dedicated CNC grinders fitted with diamond abrasive wheels. We grind the inner bore, outer diameter, U-groove working surface and end faces in controlled setups to maintain tight concentricity and consistent surface finish, with zero burrs and zero thermal damage.

Secondary Operations: Custom groove modifications, micro-hole features and precision surface polishing are available on request for specialized application needs.

Material Grades & Dimensional Specifications

FlexiTurn works with industry-standard high-purity alumina ceramics, with full material traceability and certified physical properties for every batch.

95% Alumina (Al₂O₃): Standard industrial grade with balanced wear resistance and cost, suitable for general automation, conveying and packaging equipment.

99% High-Purity Alumina (Al₂O₃): High-performance grade with superior insulation, low particle generation and chemical resistance, designed for semiconductor, medical and fiber optic applications.

Dimensional tolerances: Dimensional tolerances: ±0.02 mm for general features (≤50 mm OD); ±0.005 mm for critical bore and groove working surfaces (inspected under 20℃ constant temperature conditions)

Geometric accuracy: Concentricity within 0.008 mm; end face parallelism within 0.006mm for precision grade.

Surface finish: Ra 0.2-0.8 μm  for working groove surfaces to prevent scratching of delicate wires and fibers.

What Sets FlexiTurn Apart
  • Specialized Ceramic CNC Grinding Capability: FlexiTurn operates dedicated CNC grinding equipment optimized exclusively for structural ceramics, not repurposed metal machining centers. Our validated grinding parameters and diamond wheel selection consistently produce chip-free edges and crack-free subsurfaces — a level of quality standard CNC shops cannot match with conventional tooling.
  • Full In-House Process Integration: From blank sintering to final grinding and inspection, every step is completed on FlexiTurn’s premises. No subcontracting means tighter control over material quality, shorter lead times and transparent pricing with no middleman markup.
  • Ceramic-Specific DFM Review Within 24 Hours: Every CAD submission receives a complimentary design review focused on ceramic manufacturability. Our engineers assess groove geometry, wall thickness and tolerance requirements to optimize grindability, avoid costly design flaws and extend the service life of your pulleys.
  • Flexible Order Scaling: We support orders from single prototype pulleys for performance testing to medium-volume production runs. Prototype lead time is 5–7 business days; production lead time is 12–18 business days, scaled to your project timeline.
  • ISO-Aligned Quality Assurance: All production follows FlexiTurn’s ISO 9001:2015 aligned quality management system. Each order includes dimensional inspection records, material certification and full batch traceability. Full RoHS and REACH compliance documentation is available on request.
